Law 100 X(Klein Metals) - In general terms Law 100 X is a PM steel, originally developed in close cooperation by Klein Metals and Carpenter, patent pending. According to its official documentation LAW 100 X is a lead free machining steel of the latest generation for automatic Swiss lathes. While that part doesn't exactly describe the knives, still Law 100 X has decent wear resistance and toughness, being very similar with well known AISI 1095 steel. I figure Law 100 X should benefit from PM process used in its production resulting in more uniform, smaller grain, which is always a plus for any knife steel. Currently, I have no confirmed use of Law 100 X in any knife. Like AISI 1095 steel, Law 100 X should be able to reach 64-66HRC and will do well with a thin, polished edge. For the record, there is a version of the Law 100 X with Lead(Pb) added to it, which is making machining easier, but undesirable for knife blades.
