Working on the new version of the steel chart, and indirectly or directly that involves revision of the data. Merged bunch of standalone alloys into proper groups, dealers or makers often do not provide equivalents, so I have to find it the hard way. At least my chart has search by composition :) Merged Masahiro MBS-26 with Sandvik 19C27 steel group. Half a dozen Dorrenber steels are now in their respective groups as well including: PMD9, PMD10, PMD23, PMD60, PMD440 and few more.

Got stuck in review phase for over a week, but it's out finally :)< /br> New Feature - Bookmarks migration on db upgrade Adjusted composition lookup algorithm Unified data format for chemical element data in graph view BugFix - Fixed an issue when element range starting with 0 was displayed incorrectly BugFix - Popups correctly show HTML entities

One more Shapron GLass Stone I received from Takeshi (aframestokyo.com). Quite handy stone for a quick touch up of the medium coarse edges. NO need fro long soaks which is the main advantage of Shaptons, and 2000 grit is just fine for most of the utility edges finished anywhere between 700-2000 grit. All good, except it's thin and for a stone frequently used for touchups and minor sharpenings that's hardly an advantage :)

Fixes issue with the graph not displaying elements in range beginning with 0 correctly. Improves composition lookup algorithm. Adds Bookmark automatic import on database upgrade event.

Got it a while back from Takeshi of aframes Tokyo. Pretty good one for what it is. Fast, aggressive. Can work as a primary rebeveling and edge repair stone for majority of knives in pretty much any alloy. There will be a few things that will make you switch to more coarse and aggressive stones, like CPM S125V steel at 64-65HRC or worse, Crucible Rex 121 steel at 68-70HRC. However, those are rare and knives in them are few and between. Most of the time 500 grit Shapton can be a primary stone, and for those exceptions it will be a second stone.

After a long break, caused by development efforts of the knife steel chart mobile apps I finally got back to the web version. Major change or improvement was in the composition lookup algorithm. It's both, more performance and more precise now. Spent some time working on caching algorithms for both steel chart and composition analyzer. Individual alloy data files are generated and cached now. Also went through all the javascript for both modules, gives some improvement, but unfortunately, main table in the steel chart is still too slow without any constraints limiting the number for records. As before, strongly recommended to set up proper initial settings to speed up initial loading, i.e. default standard and probably hide ref names as well. Next release will be major changes, moving a lot of functionality to client side, should help my poor server too.

No pictures or review yet, arrived this afternoon. I'll get on it this weekend. Ordered a while back, about 9 months ago if I am not mistaken, and it was announced way before that. Hinderer design, Bohler-Uddeholm M390 Stainless PM Steel, Carbon FIber handle, well at least one slab is carbon fiber, and the other is titanium since it is a framelock. Quality knife, no doubts.

My very first wootz knife, and while it doesn't cover all wootz varieties out there, it was still well worth playing with. Nice little knife, performs well for light, and medium cutting. The handle is a bit smallish, but otherwise it is just fine. No, despite the legends it didn't cut through other knives ;) Just a quality piece with good performance. But I can see how that coule be a source for the legends hundreds of years ago, considering the rest of the stuff around.

Two crash fixes for older devices, one is LG specific I think, both crash reports I've got were from LG devices. Added compression for sync process, which doesn't really take that much data, but still some improvement in speed and saves bandwidth too.
