Supra5(Akers) - High speed PM tool steel. Akers proprietary alloy. The closest I can find in the database would be Bohler-Uddeholm K390 tool steel. However, Supra 5 has less Mo, V and no Co compared to K390. In short, quite different. K390 is an excellent knife steel, and Supra5 should do just fine, theoretically :) It does have very high wear resistance and working hardness, around 65HRC. High carbide volume alloy. As such it is better used with coarse edge, around 15° per side, that is if cutting efficiency is concerned.

Manufacturing Technology - PM
