9KHFM(GOST) - Low alloy tool steel, no international equivalent is listed anywhere. Originally designed for bandsaws. Working hardness for knives is in 57-60HRC range. Does get mentioned on Russian knife forums as a decent blade material. Some of the dealers and steel makers also list is as a knife steel. From what I've seen takes good polish. Decent toughness, and ok. wear resistance.
