ATS-55(Hitachi) - Custom made alloy for Spyderco by Hitachi. Spyderco produced various models using ATS-55, but eventually moved on to Hitachi ATS-34 steel, Takefu VG-10 and better alloys. ANyway, on its own, especially back then, it was pretty much a premium steel, with performance being in AISI 440C stainless steel class.
