DI90-MP(UkrNIISpecStal) - Ukrainian PM steel, used by few Russian and Ukrainian knife makers. Considered as an equivalent of Crucible CPM 10V steel, although Carbon and Vanadium are present in significantly less quantities, however, unlike CPM 10V, DI90-MP has 2.80-3.50% Wolfram(Tungsten) in it, which is a strong carbide former too, although due to its very high molar mass, actual number os W atoms will be low, and DI90-MP also has about twice as much Silicon in it. Responses are positive, as far as its performance goes, working hardness 64-65HRC. Reports indicate difficulty in processing and sharpening, which is expected with an alloy composition like this.
