Calmax(Bohler-Uddeholm) - Chromium-Molybdenum-Vanadium alloyed steel. High toughness, with good wear resistance. Official papers emphasizes high resistance to chipping, and state that it is designed for severe cold work applications. So if you add those two properties, you have a steel you can bang on stuff for a really long time. There are small amounts of carbide formers in {AN}, helps with wear resistance but it's not a high wear resistance steel per se. According to HT diagrams, can reach 63-64. At 64 HRC it should do a good job as a light cutting knife.
