AISI 420 steel One of the oldest and mostwidel used steels in the knives and I had the composition off... I suspect it was messed up back when the database didn't support alloy groups with multiple compositions. Well, it's all good now, according to AISI specs.

Several fixes in the database. Added Latrobe Lescowear tool steel composition. Merged Vascowear, Z-Wear, Cru-Wear and Lescowear with Latrobe LSS-PGK and Lohman PGK steel group. They're way too similar to be in differnt groups. Thanks BF's Mastiff for pointing that out.

After entering bunch of Bestar steels, including DIN, W-Nr and AISI equivalents, number of alloy names in the steel chart exceeded 3000, it is 3003 at this moment, but once I finish Bestar catalog it'll be larger.

One of the very few knives I've designed myself, and I still think it's a very sexy knife :) Updated review with some new(relative to the review that is) data about CPM 3V, fixed grammar and spelling errors as much as I could, more detailed description of certain parts, that's pretty much it. Very nice knife, made out of the very good steel.

Manix 2, form the sprint run long ago. One of the rarest Manixes, if not the rarest, only 400 made. Actually, what I really cared about was the CPM S90V steel. The rest just jacked up the price. 360$ for that folder is quite steep. Still, I wanted it, and now I have it, so I am happy. Nice, medium size folder and QC is top notch. I am not too fond of the CF texture, I'd much rather have smooth CF like on other knives, but I can always mod it. Second Spyderco that I actually like.

It is the most modded folder in my collection, well the two of them I have are. Last mod was the handle swap, again, on the Tom Krein regrind, which was rehardened by Phil Wilson earlier. Updated first section of the review, added new photos. I'll rework the complete review soon, It's been 12+ years I have been carrying those knives and the review does need revamping, given all the mods and data accumulated.

One more EDC remake. As I mention in lots of folding knife reviews and articles, I've been carying Benchmade 710HSSR for a long time, and it, or they, both of the 710HSSR-s I have went through numerous modifications, including blade recoating, handle replacements, regrinds, and most importantly rehardening. Lately, I got bored with plain G10 handle, so I've swapped out the handle again, had it planned for a while, but was just too busy or lazy. So, one again, handle swap, I took Benchmade 710-02 D2 folder, changed the D2 blade for the Phil Wilson rehardened and Tom Krein reground blade. Pix coming up this weekend. Polished the rounded parts of the blade on the belt grinder too. Butter smooth action.

A few dozen updates went into database yesterday. That includes 70MnMoCr8 steel composition from the standard specs, updated compositions for several alloys, fixed incorrect steel references for the 52100 steel group and 100Cr6 steel as well. Added new reference names for those alloy groups and some more. If you have Android knife Steel Chart Application, fire up database synchronization, otherwise, the new info is online.

My first kitchen knife from Yoshikane, and it was a really good one. Actually, it was yet another borrowed knife, but I had it for two weeks, and that was enough time to get a good idea about its capabilities. Overall, I liked it a lot. It was interesting to observe SKD 11 steel(which is the Japanese version of the AISI D2 tool steel) at 64HRC, which is quite unusual for western knives. Detailed review is online, follow the link.
