It's been well over 5 years, that's the oldest email I found, but it was quite a while before that, since I Have sent it for a simple rehandling job to Dan Koster. For a while I forgot, then numerous emails were exchanged, every time I was assured next week, almost there... Very frustrating and negative experience overall. Haven't had anything like this with any knife makers and I've worked with a lot of them, across the globe. Well, at least I have my knife back, rehandled, no visible flaws in the work. Although, after so many years, I have changed my preferences, don't even like it that much.

Updated Crucible CPM 154 stainless steel composition, once again :) Basically, the controversy or variable remains the same Vanadium content. Crucible didn't list it, lots of others, including Crucible insiders claimed it has 0.25% Vanadium or so. Later Niagara rep. clarified Vanadium in CPM 154 was residual, not intentional. I do not know enough metallurgy to understand how Vanadium can become residual element in the steel alloy, but I'm marking it as ? in the composition. Until I get lab test results from someone.
