Z-Max(Zapp) - Zapp super high speed steel, working hardness 68-70HRC. 0.12% Sulfur in Z-Max is optional, added to large diameter rounds to improve machinability. Z-Max is comparable to AISI T15 and Crucible CPM Rex 76 steel. In other words, very high wear resistance and working hardness, difficult to machine, and heat treat. High carbide volume too, and because of that Z-Max is better off with the coarse edge at least 15°.
