CSP(Stones Steels) - Popular forging steel. Used by many custom makers and mass makers including Randall. Good edge stability and wear resistance, not as tough as AISI A2 or its equivalents, but still quite good in that department. Can reach 65HRC, and works well with refined edge as a light/medium cutter. Randal uses it around 56HRC and other makers use it around 56-58HRC for larger knives, and above that medium/small knives. If you are looking for a hard use knife, Crucible CPM 3V, AISI L6 or AISI A2 and their equivalents would all make a better choice. For small knives it's definitely a better performer at high hardness.

Manufacturing Technology - Ingot
