Caldie(Bohler-Uddeholm) - Cold work tool steel. High resistance to chipping and cracking. In other words better choice for large, heavy duty knives, but at max hardness can do decent job for small, light cutting knives as well. Trace amounts of Vanadium is there to refine grain, 0.30% won't do much for wear resistance, but there's also 2.5% Molybdenum which is a decent carbide former, and Chromium which can also form carbides, plus aid with stain resistance. Not a stainless steel. Only seen in custom knives, in Europe.

Manufacturing Technology - Ingot

Country - Sweden(SE)
